Tintin First Hockey Game

Category: Journal

This Saturday Tintin got to see his first hockey game. We were given 3 tickets to see the game (thanks Scott!) and so we left Rhys with the grandparents and took Tristan to the game. He has watched hockey with uncle Tyler and gets all excited as he yells out "go hockey!" and "boom" whenever there is a big hit. So when we told him saturday morning we where going to go to a hockey game that was all he could talk about all day. For a 2 year old he did really well sitting through 2 and half hours yelling "go hockey!" and clapping when everyone clapped.

That morning we meet up with the Beckers for a little walk and some time in the park. Unfortunately this ended up being the coldest part of the day and we froze our butts of. But the Tristan and Lyric had lots of fun while Aria and Rhys just slept in their strollers.

Aside from that it has been life as usual with me workign way too many hours. The boys are becoming more and more attached to each other and Tristan even cries when Rhys is taken away for a nap at day care. Lately Naomi has been able to take the boys (with Grandma's help) to the pool. They both love it lots and hopefully it will help Tristan get over his recent fear of the bath, i never thought i would see someone so upset to have a bath.

Now of course our boys like any other kid has way too many toys, but when you go shopping you always just happen across a toy that you really want to buy for them. This time it was a tool box with all sorts of toys tools, i just couldn't resist and gave in. Now Tristan can truly help dad out around the house or destroy eveything in site. I think he is very proud of his tools though as he played with each one and then put them all carefully away when he was finished.

Fall days

Category: Journal

We spent the weekend enjoying the October weather.  It was particularly sunny this weekend, even if it was a little bit cold.  Saturday we went on an adventure to pick out some pumpkins.  I had never been to a pumpkin patch before and it was kinda neat seeing them all over the place.  Tristan was so excited to be there – when we first got to the patch, he was trying to pick up the biggest pumpkins he could find.  We tried to find a Tristan sized pumpkin for him to carry, but he wasn't interested.  When we got home, Troy cut up the pumking and pureed it and Tristan and I made pumkin pie.  What did Rhys do?  Jump in his Jolly Jumper – seems to be what he does most of the time these days.

This afternoon, we went to mission creek park with Troy's parents.  It was cold but sunny and we wanted to take advantage of what could be one of the last weekends we can go to the park this season.  Tristan had a lot of fun taking Cosmo for a walk.

I've been really enjoying my boys lately.  Tristan is so affectionate with Rhys and always very concerned about where he is and how he's doing.  If I put Tristan in the car seat first, he points to Rhys' spot and says "Rhys too?"  Rhys is also getting to the age where he really responds and giggles a lot at Tristan.  The only thing that can make him laugh as much as his brother is the Jolly Jumper!

Happy Birthday Naomi!

Category: Journal

Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife who on the 6th turned 29. Yep that is right one more year before the big 3-oh! We ahve pretty much been celebrating for a few days now with a party at our house sat, a dinner at her parent's on monday and a dinner at my today. MMM lots of food and cake and pie!! I guess i will have to start planning for next year's big party.

Aside from Naomi's birthday we have been attending other birthday parties for kids and well Tristan is still getting presents almost a month after his b-day. He sure is one spoiled kid, i think he know it too.

Other than that lately we have been well more like me has been buried in work but making sure to play with the fam on the weekends, especially with the weather taking a cold turn. We have managed to get out to the local parks lots and let Tristan run around and i have to say that the kettle valley park is pretty cool you can just for yourself just by the picture of the slides.

On another note we have just not been able to fill Rhys up lately so he has started solid food earlier than Tristan did. So far he has taken to it very readily and really enjoys it, but still hasn't figured out how to eat and chew on his fingers at the same time. As always he is being his cute smiley self and loves to watch and giggle as Tristan runs around.

Category: Journal

Light-bot

I came across this gem of a game called light-bot a little over a week ago and thought i would share it with you all. For those of you who might be programmers well this might be right up your ally for the rest well it might give you some insight into our world in a nice fun way. This game is clean and fun and like any good puzzle game makes you think. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
