I have Gremlins!!

Category: Journal

Ok i don't have the little creatures but i do have the book from Roald Dahl. As some of you know Roald Dahl is my favourite children's book author. I think i first got hooked when my grade 4 teacher read us James and the Giant Peach. Now i am trying to collect all his books. I think i am about half way there. Unfortunately his first book The Gremlins was only printed in limited edition way back in 1943 so of course there was only a few copies floating around.

The Gremlins

I tried to get the book off of Ebay but the lowest i ever saw it on there was for $300 and in not very good condition. Then last November Dark Horse re-published it. So now i will be able to complete my collection as all the other books are still being published.

The cool thing about the book as well is it was Disney did the illustrations for it, as it was going to become one of their cartoon productions. Unfortunalty it was cancelled. Anyways time to read my book.

Mutant Virus

Category: Art,Journal

Tonight i got this little guy in my head and couldn't get him out so i had to start drawing him. As you all know i was sick last week and well wouldn't you know it Aaron my co-worker who sits beside me got sick this week as well. So of course he blammed it all on me, so i agreed and told i probably shouldn't have licked his keyboard and mouse(nasty habit of mine).

Anyways this got me thinking about the virus, and with this other character i would like to create (more on that at a later time). The idea popped in my head that a giant virus was being mutated and genetically altered in a lab then shrunk down to the proper size and unleashed on unwilling victims (aren't all victims unwilling?). Anyways this viruses would then multiply and brainwash and alter the victim creating perfect evil henchmen. Muuuwahahaha. uh ahem.

Mutant Virus

Anyways enjoy this little guy all inked up for now as it is late and i will have to get to the colors at a later time. Aaron this one is for you!

The sick family

Category: Journal

It looks like the rest of the family just couldn't hold out against my flu. They gave a valiant effort but alas the virus was just too strong. Those viruses are very tough little guys. I feel bad but there is just not much i could've done. It looks like the peanut is doing not to bad with it but Naomi is being hit hard. I gotta say though that even baby coughs are really cute.

Fortunately Friday night we were able to sneak our little date in and well basically celebrate Valentine's as it just won't be possible on Wednesday. We had an awesome meal at, yep you guessed it Moxies and then we finally saw Pan's Labyrinth. We loved Pan's Labyrinth, it was such a good film. I wish we could see more like this, more actual fairy tales, more Brothers Grim than Disneyfied.  I don't recommend the film to the faint of heart as it is a little gruesome with some scenes being set during the first World War, and the bad guy being well really bad. My only real disappointment was that i would have loved to have seen more of the fantasy world. I was depicted more like it should be more raw and more like it all blended in with the real world that you would almost miss it. So if you are looking for a movie to go see this just might be the one.

Sunday night we had a yummy turkey dinner with my family to celebrate my Mom and my sister-in-law Heather's B-days. Shhhhhh my Mom turns 50 on Thursday. The peanut was sure happy to hang with them, and i think everyone was happy to hang with him. He even wore one of my favourite outfits. I call him Rocky in this one.

Sick yet again!!

Category: Journal

Yep i am sick once again. I am just being hammered this year. This is the 3rd cold/flu so far. I think that i am now good for the year and shouldn't have to get sick anymore. It just sucks feeling like a big slug.

The beginning of the weekend started out well with the Becker's coming over our place for dinner. Was good times as always and now we have a unmet challenge to Cranium coming up. Saturday was basically when i got sick again so the rest of the weekend was kind of a write off. We canceled our super bowl party so i could get some rest, and that is what i have been doing since.

With out making this post sound too depressing i will leave you with a video clip i came across last week. It called Chad Vader: Dayshift Manager. I thought it was brilliant and i hope you enjoy it.

So 70’s ??

Category: Journal

Alright i have just installed a polling system for this blog so let's give it a little test and see how it goes.

Today i looked in the mirror and thought that i looked particularly late 70's which coincidentally is slightly one of my favourite time periods. If you might not have been able to guess all ready. Anyways here is the question.
